This hour-long experience is crafted as a sanctuary for contemplation, drawing you inward through spacious tones and sacred intervals. Michael Thomas, PhD
Michael Thomas is an anthropologist and sound practitioner whose work bridges the empirical insights of cultural science with the transformative power of resonant sound. Grounded in both academic research and embodied practice, his sessions draw from a deep understanding of how sound shapes human experience across cultures—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Michael is especially inspired by the ancient connection between the body and the cosmos, the vibrational harmony that links matter to meaning. His sound immersions are non-denominational and welcoming to all, offering contemplative experiences that complement diverse belief systems while honoring the sacred in each tradition.
Michael serves on the executive board of the Society for Anthropological Sciences and teaches anthropology part-time at Wayne State University. His work is guided by a holistic ethos—one that respects the rigor of science while embracing the mystery of the spiritual. Through sound, he invites participants to attune more fully to themselves, to their environment, and to the deeper rhythms of the world around them.
